Although Lovefool
was the only pop top 20 hit for The Cardigans, the group had
a few rock top 20 hits. This song was from the album First
Band On The Moon.
Stand Up was
a very popular dance song and received some pop radio airplay.
Love Tribe did not have another song that received noticeable
radio airplay.
I Like It was
the only top 20 hit for The Blackout Allstars. The Blackout
Allstars was a one-shot grouping of popular singers and musicians
like Ray Baretto, Sheila E., and Grover Washington, Jr.
Let Me Clear
My Throat reached number 25 for DJ Kool, who did not have another
top 30 song. This song, which borrowed from dance classics like
Hollywood Swinging by Kool
And The Gang, received extensive club play and became
an end of the week anthem -- especially the live version.
In 2001,
Let's Get Dirty (I Can't Get In Da Club) received moderate play
as by Redman Featuring DJ Kool.
Silent All These
Years reached the pop top 20 more than five years after it was
released, becoming a top 20 one hit wonder for Tori Amos. She
had a string of popular alternative songs too, including four
rock top 20 hits.
It's Alright,
It's OK was a near rock top 20 miss and a moderately played
pop radio song for Leah
Andreone, making it her most popular tune. She followed-up
with other songs like Mother Tongue, which received slight radio
airplay. It's Alright, It's OK was from the album Veiled.
Rapper Freak
Nasty made the top 20 only once with Da' Dip, but he received
moderate play with other songs too like 2007
song Do It Just Like A Rockstar as by Freak Nasty And Crazy
Mike.
Although Naked
Eye was the only rock top 20 hit for Luscious
Jackson, the group made the rock top 30 again with
its 1999 song Ladyfingers. Naked Eye was from the album Fever
In Fever Out.
Your Woman borrowed
from the 1932 song My Woman by Lew Stone And The Monseigneur
Band. This was the only pop
or rock
top 20 song for White Town. The group received slight radio
airplay with other songs, like Another Lover. Your Woman was
from the album Women In Technology.
I Belong To
You was a top 20 near miss for soul singer Jerome Woods who
went by the name Rome. He followed-up with Do You Like This
and other songs that received moderate airplay.
Hell was the
only rock
top 20 hit for Squirrel Nut Zippers. The group received
some alternative airplay with other songs like Bedbugs. Hell
was from the album Hot.
Although Bitch
was the only top 20 hit for Meredith Brooks, she made the top
30 with What Would Happen a few months later. The song was from
the album Blurring The Edges.
6 Underground
was a rock top 20 one hit wonder for dance and alternative group
Sneaker Pimps. The song also was a pop top 20 near miss. Sneaker
Pimps received some airplay with other songs like follow-up
Spin Spin Sugar.
The Impression
That I Get was a top 20 one hit wonder for The Mighty Mighty
Bosstones. The group had other songs that received airplay,
and that made the rock top 20 too.
If You Could
Only See was the only pop top 20 hit for Tonic, The rock group
had three big top 10 rock songs, and received airplay with other
songs too.
Although Tubthumping
was the only pop or rock top 20 hit for Chumbawamba,
the follow-up, Amnesia, just made the the pop top 30. Chumbawamba
was named for a dream by a group member where the men's room
was labeled chumba and the ladies' room was labeled wamba.
Legend Of A
Cowgirl borrowed from Sunshine Superman by Donovan. In 2001,
Imani Coppola joined Baha Men on its song You All Dat, which
received some radio airplay.
My Body was
a number 27 song and the most popular song by project group
LSG. A follow up, Curious, as by LSG Featuring LL
Cool J, Busta
Rhymes And MC Lyte, received some soul play.
LSG was actually a collaboration of well-known soul stars, with
the letters standing for Gerald Levert, Keith
Sweat, and Johnny
Gill.
