when it became a number
one hit. Group members Freddy Curci and guitarist
Steve DeMarchi then had a 1990number
2 hit with More Than Words Can Say, under the name
Alias.
As Sheriff, this was their only top 20.
Dear God was
the only rock top 20 hit for Midge Ure, who also had a rock
one
hit wonder as a member of Ultravox
with its 1983number
18 rock song Reap The Wild Wind.
I Beg Your Pardon
borrowed music and lyrics from Rose Garden, the 1971 number
2 hit by Lynn Anderson, and borrowed music from the 1979 top
20 hit by GQ, Disco Nights (Rock-Freak).
Twist In My
Sobriety was a rock top 20 one
hit wonder for Tanita Tikaram, but she had other
songs that received international or alternative play, like
the follow-up Good Tradition.
You're What
You Want To Be was the only rock
top 20 hit for Cruel Story Of Youth. The group never
had another song that received noticeable radio airplay. This
song was from the album Cruel Story Of Youth.
Heaven Help
Me was the only top 20 song by Deon
Estus. His follow-up song, Spell, received very little
radio airplay. The writers of this song were: Deon Estus, George
Michael.
Thinking Of
You was a top 20 one
hit wonder and a ballad for freestyle dance singer
Sa-Fire. She had a string of moderately popular songs, including
her 1990
remake of the 1979

a remake of the 1965 near top 20 miss by The Dixie Cups. Although
Iko Iko was the only top 20 song for The
Belle Stars, the group had a few lesser known songs
that received radio airplay. The song was from the movie Rain
Man.
In 1974, Rock
On was a number 4 hit for David Essex. This Michael
Damian remake of the song was his only top 20 hit.
His second most popular song was Was It Nothing At All, a top
30 song. Michael Damian was a long time actor in the TV show
The Young And The Restless. The song was from the album
Where Do We Go From Here.
Where Are You
Now was the only top
20 hit for Jimmy Harnen With Synch. The song received
some airplay in 1986, then came back to become a top 10 hit
in 1989.
Send Me An Angel
'89 was the second top 30 song by Real Life, but the first was
Send Me An Angel in its original mix in 1983.
The group did not have another song make the top 30, but received
moderate pop and alternative airplay with other songs like Catch
Me I'm Falling.
Hey Baby was
a top 20 one
hit wonder for Henry Lee Summer, whose biggest rock
hit was 1988number
one rock tune I Wish I Had A Girl, which was also
a pop top 20 near miss. Hey Baby was from the album I've
Got Everything.
Although Talk
It Over was the only top
20 hit for Grayson
Hugh, he received soul radio airplay for a few other
songs, including a remake of the 1981 Champaign
song How 'Bout Us. Talk It Over was from the album Blind
To Reason.
Walkin' Shoes
was ther only rock top 20 hit for guitar rock group Tora Tora.
The group got some rock airplay with other songs like the follow-up,
She's Good She's Bad.
Sleeping My
Day Away was a rock top 20 one
hit wonder for D-A-D.
The letters D-A-D stood for Disneyland After Dark, but this
acronym was used to prevent legal problems.
Pictures Of
Matchstick Men was a 1968 number 15 hit for The Status Quo.
The Camper Van Beethoven remake was the only rock
top 20 hit for this group. The group never received
