Although Hot
Hot Hot was the only top 20 hit by Buster Poindexter, he received
some radio play with his 1989 remake of the 1961 Ray
Charles number 2 song Hit The Road Jack.
Dignity was
a rock top 20 one
hit wonder for Deacon Blue, while group had a long
string of UK hits including a 1990
remake of the of the 1970Dionne
Warwick number 6 hit I'll Never Fall In Love Again.
Serpentine was
a rock top 20 one
hit wonder for Kings Of The Sun. The group received
airplay with other rock songs also, like Drop The Gun, which
was a rock top 20 near miss in 1990.
Heaven Tonight
was the only rock top 20 hit for Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising
Force. At that time, Yngwie J. Malmsteen featured former Deep
Purple and Rainbow lead singer Joe Lynn Turner. Yngwie
J. Malmsteen was known for his guitar work, and heavy metal.
A prior song, I'll See The Light Tonight, sung by Jeff Lynn
Soto, who later joined Journey,
received moderate rock airplay. Heaven Tonight was from the
album Odessey.
Red Blue Jeans
was a rock top 20 one
hit wonder for country-rock performer John Kilzer.
He followed-up with Green, Yellow, Red, which gained some rock
airplay.
Tomorrow People
was a top 20 near miss. Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers followed-up
the song with a string of popular songs that received heavy
soul and rock music airplay.
I'm Onto You
was the only rock
top 20 hit by Hurricane. The group received minor
rock airplay with other songs too, like Over The Edge. I'm Onto
You was from the album Over The Edge.
Common Ground
was a rock
top 20 hit and the only song that received mentionable
radio airplay by Rhythm Corps. The song was from the album Common
Ground.
The number
one song Don't Worry, Be Happy won the Grammy Awards
for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year. Bobby McFerrin
never received any noticeable airplay for any other song. Bobby
McFerrin wrote the song. Don't Worry Be Happy was from the movie
Cocktail.
Fight (No Matter
How Long) was the only rock top 20 hit for The Bunburys, a charity
project by RSO records CEO David English. The song featured
Eric
Clapton, and was later credited as by Eric Clapton.
Motor was the
most popular song by guitar rock group Circus Of Power. The
group received lesser airplay with other songs like Call Of
The Wild. Motor was from the album Circus Of Power.
