The Curly Shuffle
was a memorial to The Three Stooges, and the only top 20 hit
for Jump 'N The Saddle. The group had no other songs with mentionable
radio airplay.
This German
version of 99 Red Balloons was more popular in the US than the
English version, but both were heavily played. Since both were
versions of the same song, and since Nena never had another
song that received any noticable radio play, this could be considered
a one hit wonder.
Balls To The
Wall was a rock top 20 one
hit wonder for metal group Accept. The group had
other songs played on rock stations, like Fast As A Shark. Balls
To The Wall was from the album Balls To The Wall.
The Dominatrix
Sleeps Tonight became most popular through video exposure --
but not on MTV where the song was banned. Dominatrix never had
another song that received noticeable airplay, and apparently
did not even release another song.
On Your Feet
was the only rock
top 20 song for Icon. The hair band received no appreciable
airplay for any other song. The song was from the album Icon.
The Homecoming
Queen's Got A Gun became very popular through video airplay.
This song was the B-side of the single I Like 'Em Big And Stupid,
which received slight radio airplay earlier. Julie Brown received
minor airplay with other songs too, like I Want To Be Gay.
Modern Day Delilah
was the greatest hit by Van
Stephenson, but other Van Stephenson songs received
some radio airplay. This song was from the album Righteous
Anger.
Although Breakin'...There's
No Stopping Us was the only top 20 hit by Ollie & Jerry, the
duo received some airplay a few months later with Electric Boogaloo.
Rock Me Tonite
was the only pop top 20 hit by Billy Squier, but he had a long
string of popular songs that did not quite make it, and had
many rock top 20 songs too. The Stroke, his classic 1981 song,
peaked at pop number 22.
Although We're
Not Gonna Take It was the greatest hit by Twisted Sister, the
group had another top 20 hit, I Wanna Rock. Twisted Sister also
had a long string of very successful guitar rock and metal songs.
Wet Dream was
the most popular song by Kip Addotta. He received lesser radio
airplay with other songs like I'm So Miserable Without You.
In addition to music, Kip Addotta was a comedic movie actor.
Grandma Got
Run Over By A Reindeer, a rock
number 7 hit, was the only song that received noticeable
airplay for husband and wife duo Elmo & Patsy. This song became
a holiday classic. The song was from the album Grandma Got
Run Over By A Reindeer.
