Although Baby
Take Me In Your Arms was the only top 20 hit by Jefferson,
he had some other songs that received radio airplay like The
Colour Of My Love.
After Venus,
The Shocking Blue did not have another top 20 hit song, but
followed-up with Mighty Joe which received moderate airplay.
In 1986,
Bananarama
remade Venus and the song became a number
2 hit.
Hey There Lonely
Girl was a remake of the 1963 number 12 hit Hey There Lonely
Boy by Ruby
And The Romantics. Hey There Lonely Girl was also
remade in 1980 by Robert
John. Eddie Holman also remade the 1959 number 2
hit Since I Don't Have You by The Skyliners, and received radio
airplay with other songs.

The Rapper was
the only top 20 song for The Jaggerz. Other songs received some
soul airplay. Group member Donnie
Iris had a string of hits years later.
House Of The
Rising Sun was the only top 20 hit for Frijid Pink. In 1965,
The
Animals had taken the song to number
one. Frijid Pink also received radio airplay with
a few other songs like Sing A Song Of Freedom. House Of The
Rising Sun was from the album Frijid Pink.
Tony
Burrows sang Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes).
Edison
Lighthouse received slight radio airplay with other
songs also. Tony
Burrows as singer had many other top 20 hit songs.

on UK TV show Top Of The Pops with its number one song.
Tony Burrows had already performed with other groups on the
same show.
Although Spirit
In the Sky was the only top 20 hit for Norman Greenbaum, he

You're The One
was the only top 20 song for group Little Sister. A few months
later, Little Sister received some airplay with Somebody's Watching
You, but that song did not make the countdown.
Vehicle was
written by group member Jim Peterik because his girlfriend would
only see him when she needed a ride. However, the two were eventually
married.
Although Vehicle was the only top 20 hit by The Ides Of March,
the group received rock radio airplay for other songs.
The greatest
hit by The
5 Stairsteps was O-o-h Child, its only top 20 song.
In the soul area, the group was very popular with a long string
of songs that received radio airplay. In 1993, Dino remade this
song and hit number
9 with it.
United We Stand
was the title track of the album and the writers were: John
Goodison, Toby Hiller. Tony
Burrows sang the song. Brotherhood
Of Man received slight radio airplay with the follow-up,
Where Are You Going To My Love, also sung by Tony Burrows. Tony
Burrows as singer had many other top 20 hit songs.
He did not sing the later songs by Brotherhood Of Man.
Blues Image
included singer and guitarist Mike Pinera who was also with
Iron Butterfly. Ride Captain Ride was the only top 20 hit for

was the only top 20 hit by this group. Other songs by Alive

Robin McNamara
borrowed some of his costars from the show Hair to sing
backup on Lay A Little Lovin' On Me. The follow-up song, Got
To Believe In Love, also borrowed Hair members, but only
received slight radio airplay.

Tommy (A Rock Opera) was a near top 20 miss for The Assembled
Multitude. The group also received some radio airplay with Woodstock.
The original movie Tommy was a rock opera performed by
The
Who. Pete Townshend wrote the song.
Ernie was the
name of a 'muppet' character from the TV show Sesame Street.
Jim Henson was the voice for Ernie.
In 1979, Jim Henson had a top 20 near miss with the song Rainbow
Connection, as by Kermit, another muppet character.
Neanderthal
Man was the most popular song by Hotlegs, just reaching into
the top 20. The group followed-up with Run Baby Run, which received
minor radio airplay. Members of The Mindbenders and 10cc were
in Hotlegs.
Although All
Right Now was the only top 20 hit for Free, the group had many
songs that received rock radio airplay, like The Stealer, Little
Bit Of Love, and Wishing Well.
Somebody's Been
Sleeping was the only top 20 song for 100 Proof Aged In Soul,
which was a popular soul group, and had a top 20 near miss in
1972 with Everything Good Is Bad.
God, Love And
Rock & Roll was the only top 20 hit for rock duo Teegarden &
Van Winkle. The follow-up, Everything Is Going To Be Alright,
received little notice. Teegarden went on to play drums with
Bob
Seger.
Although Indiana
Wants Me was the only top 20 hit for R. Dean Taylor, he followed-up
with Ain't It A Sad Thing which received some radio airplay.
In 2000, Rascalz Featuring Barrington Levy And K-OS received
some airplay with the song Top Of The World which borrowed heavily
from Indiana Wants Me.
In 1969, Jake
Holmes received some rock notice with his song Dazed And Confused,
which became a classic when remade by Led
Zeppelin.
So Close was the only top 20 hit for Jake Holmes. The song was
from the album So Close, So Very Far To Go.
Montego Bay
was the only top 20 hit for Bobby Bloom. Some of his other songs
received minor radio airplay like Where Are We Going. Montego
Bay was written by: Bobby Bloom, Jeff Barry.
