Buggles was an alternative group. The song Video Killed The Radio Star received moderate pop and rock airplay in 1979, after it hit number one in the UK. Video Killed The Radio Star was in popular rotation at MTV upon its introduction in the summer of 1981. Buggles, with the song Video Killed The Radio Star, are often considered to be a one hit wonder because the song became a classic. It was also by far the greatest hit by Buggles. Buggles received some airplay with other songs however. The follow-up to Video Killed The Radio Star, Living In The Plastic Age, took Buggles to number 16 on the UK charts. |
