The Belle Stars was a UK music group. The greatest hit by The Belle Stars was its only top 20 song, Iko Iko, a top 20 one hit wonder. Iko Iko was from the movie Rain Man. The song was also a remake of the 1965 top 20 near miss by The Dixie Cups. Although The Belle Stars had quite a few dance and international hits, Iko Iko was by far the biggest.
A few years before Iko Iko, in 1982, The Belle Stars remade the 1965 Shirley Ellis top 20 song, The Clapping Song (Clap Pat Clap Slap), shortening the title.
